State-of-the-art Facilities
The IMAS Taroona site has newly commissioned water intake infrastructure and water treatment facilities, large temperature-controlled quarantine rooms, feed manufacture facilities, well-equipped science laboratories, specialised analytical equipment and highly trained technical staff.
Partner organisations provide additional technical expertise, facilities, and equipment. The University of the Sunshine Coast has a state-of-the-art GeneCology center that provides genetic capabilities and strong international links to ensure the delivery of molecular outcomes. A dedicated marine-invertebrate physiology laboratory is housed at the University of Auckland.
Ornatas has established the world’s first commercial lobster hatchery, located near Townsville, providing additional research capacity and instant technology transfer to industry. PFG Group have polymer production facilities in Tasmania, facilitating timely prototype manufacture and testing processes.
